Why are N52 owners so jealous of N54 owners?

So this is classic brand snobbery at its finest (I realize there's a lot of that around here since we all own Bimmers, but please try to fight it a little). Also, why do you feel the need to bring another car into the discussion? I'm not defending anyone, but you're doing the same thing that the older folks were doing earlier, trying to make themselves sound cooler because they ride (or used to ride) faster bikes. Granted, this thread is a joke, but the point was to compare the N52 and N54. So let your argument stand on its own. A tuned N54 is unequivocally faster than any N52, even with a "slow" 6MT. So yes, people who bought an N54 instead of an N52 did so because they wanted to go fast (relative to N52). And the fact that you would call out someone's relatively inexpensive intercooler, downpipes, and charge pipes is strange indeed. It's almost as if you don't understand how simple these parts are and would instead prefer to overpay for a badge (perhaps even a carbon fiber one).

You're the beta cuck poster boy.
Any N52 peasant thinking he has the better platform is a chump that probably financed the car and/or can't work on it him self. Very doubtful they can afford German maintenance to begin with, so how the hell would you be able to maintain a twin turbo engine. Give up the pipe dreams. Leave the cars to owners who can maintain and respect the car. |

What is the one necessary thing an N54 owner needs to keep in his car?
A national directory of private towing companies. |

Oh wait, I forgot. N54 owners never drive their cars beyond visual line of sight of their driveway. So local tow companies only.

The impotent rage in here (as well as the creation of that other thread) is hilarious and very telling of the fact that some people just don't read. Or else, it would have been fairly clear this whole thread was created in sarcasm
Bold of you to assume they make it out the driveway |

I feel like because N52 is more popular, there will be more posts in general relating to it, and people only post when they have a problem. Not everyone will find it remarkable enough to post that their car is "working fine" except for special cases like the 400,000 mile guy. Seems like negative bias in data, like the thing with restaurant reviews where no one leaves a review if the food was just acceptable: not terrible, not amazing either. |
