Help: Experience with .VRO files from Sony HandyCam?

I have these two mini DVD-RW's recorded with a Sony HandyCam that I want to extract the video from and put together onto one DVD-R. Does anyone have experience taking the .VRO file and turning it into a .MPG or .AVI or something?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I don't have any experience with the DVD camcorders, but I do screw around with editing my own video. I use Sony Vegas Movie Studio. I was trying to do something yesterday and was reading the manual and stumbled across a mention of support for mini-DVDs.

Here's a link to it: http://www.sonymediasoftware.com/pro...code=3138-3000

Let me know if you have any questions.

Does your computer and camcorder have firewire? USB 2.0? If it does, you can upload the video from your camcorder to your computer. There are many programs to use to capture the video from your camcorder. Your Sony HandyCam should have come with one. Once uploaded, you can convert to any format you want. You can also burn onto a dvd-r/+r.

Thanks for all your help guys. I'm pretty familiar with this video editing stuff. I have a Canon GL-2 (mini-DV) and Adobe Premiere.

However, in this situation, I only have the mini DVD-RW's that were recorded using a Sony Handycam. The main media file on the DVD-RW is a .VRO file. I'm trying to get this into a file I can edit with on my computer. Actually, all I want to do is compile two separate mini DVD-RW's into one regular (4.7GB) DVD-R.

Any further advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

RedStripe,

Did the camera come with any software? Since you have premiere, I wouldn't bother buying any additional software.

If you're stuck, I might be able to help you out. I've got the Vegas Movie Studio. If you want to I'd be happy to convert the files for you.
