I don't see why it wouldn't work with all RWD E90s. I did everything myself, figuring out the wiring was probably the hardest part but once I had that sorted out it was a pretty easy swap. Parts cost me about $1300. Coding is just removing auto option $205 from VO, writing new VO to the car and deleting all adaptations through INPA. Easier than I expected.

2011 e90 335xi
Just hit 160k I personally only put 5k on it since I purchased in about 3 months ago. Runs like it's new, small kinks but nothing that hinders it's performance. Love my 335 |

125,000kms. In last 10,000km:
Had to do its first ofhg. Gasket failed 2 days after repair, towed back to shop and it was redone. Oil got all over the engine bay but mechanic said I caught it early enough to prevent any damage. AC wasn't blowing cold, don't know how long. Haven't used it since last August. Recharged it and it seems to be ok for now. Valve cover is leaking but slowly enough to not warrant attention yet. Also my coolant level goes down a bit every few thousand km, dunno why. I just keep refilling and it seems k |

Workshop finally decided it had to be something in the engine, opened it up and found one of the headbolts was loose. It was a huge job, engine had to come out. Luckily I had an aftermarket warranty to cover most of the cost. Must have been a factory fault that the last owner ignored. Now 1 year on and 10 000km, no coolant light yet... I'm at 160 000km now. |

My guess is it would progressively get worse as the head gasket wears down and it would pretty much be like any other head gasket failure causing overheating, oil and coolant mixing ect. But considering at 150 000km my symptoms were still limited to slow coolant loss, it might have taken many more years to reach that point.
Cylinder 6 might have tended to have more timing corrections as a result but I don't think I had enough logs to tell for sure. Attached pics from when they opened the engine, you can see the oil residue around where the loose bolt was on the bottom left. |

I'd say none of those seem typical.
Battery maybe depending on age, PS fluid is just maintenance. But the rest... no way. That's way too early for WP failure and leaks. |

2012 Alpine White/Coral Red 335xi M Sport
Purchased with 42,608 miles JB4, ER Charge Pipe, BMS Intake went on about 1-2 thousand miles later Maintenance before mods as they say, I made sure to do all the maintenance, oil change, fresh set of plugs, OFHG replaced, intake manifold gaskets replaced, coolant replaced, and many more minor inspections to make sure everything was top notch 3 months later, we're at 48k and enjoying every second of it |
