Poor man's m4
Sold my last car a while ago. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=501895
Now I'm back in a 2008 335xi. So the modding starts again. This time even bigger. Mods so far: Custom wide body $500 Custom M4 rear bumper. $350 5 series tail light. $free F82 front end (m4 front bumper when test fitment is done) $ 400 M3 side skirts $160 Mtechf32 front for test fitment $180 M3 hood. $350 Headlight xenon pair. $320 Still a work in progress. Let the flaming begin..

Looks weird. Looks cool. I don't like the rear end at all. The bumper to fender transition looks too weird. It needs to be fully wide with proper rear wheels. Front looks good. I dig the effort. Looking forward to seeing this develop.

I like everything except the rear bumper, I agree with NYBulldog 100%. And good on you for not doing another plastic rivet on widebody kit.
The sideskirt looks like you widened it at the rear and made an inlet vent. Neat idea.

How challenging was the front end conversion? I've seen this done a few times and always curious on how plug and play that swap is.

I'm guessing there's still a lot of work to be done. Yeah the proportions look all out of whack at the moment but I guess once you get the body work done, suspension dialed in and proper fitting wheels, this will look much better.
Very curious to see the end result! Props for stepping into uncharted territory.

I will be reserving my overall judgement until project completion. There are two things of note though:
1) The rear bumper looks awful and is reminiscent of a 16' Honda Accord. I can't envision that looking much better--whether properly finished or not. 2) The 5 series tail-lights don't flow well on a coupe, would be better sticking with two LED light streams--three seems excessive and clashes with the flow of the car. There's simply not enough 'car length' to pull it off, imho. Overall I commend you for trying something 'new'. Looking forward to seeing the end product. |

Interesting. You need to get those 666m wheels to finish off the look.

Excited to see how this will turn out.
But why did you choose F10 tail lights over F30/32? In my mind they look too big for the rear end.

Guys.. use your imgination on the rear..
Let me kick start it for some of u guys that can picture it yet.. Why f10 tail..over f32? F10 looks better even when the light are not even on. When the lights come on at night.. it f10 lci blows the f32 away.. that's just me though..
