Tire shop scratched brand new wheels
Bought some brand new black wheels and the tire shop destroyed the inside of the lug nut well (not sure terminology). Should I make a fuss or just live with it?? [IMG][/IMG]

I had brought new wheels (new boxes) to get intalled. The tire shop wheel installer nicked the edge of "lug nut well" on one of my brand new wheels. It was a 1/4" small shallow scratch. I probably would've let it go IF I had the wheels for awhile. BUT they were freakin' new. I pointed it out to the counter person. He didn't want the shop to take responsibility. I kept on him saying that they were brand new out of the box. So he brought the shop's owner over to look at it. The owner looked at it and didn't hesistate . . . "Order him a replacement." And promptly gave me an apology.

That's why you tell them not to use impact wrenches OP...or give them a protected wheel socket to use....or better yet, just get them mounted and swap the wheels yourself next time.

Shops have insurance for these types of things. Glad they're taking care of you. Maybe you'll even end up with a spare after it's all said and done.
