That cover looks great! Looks OEM! Here's mine

The double sided tape didn't stick well in the winter (check bottom center) I plan on using a hairdryer to get the adhesive to stick properly

And don't mind the leftover thread when I took it haha

Looks so much better than stock. Good job on the stitching too! I had zero issues with the tape, then again I removed the wheel and did the wrap indoors.

Wow 6ixSpd that really does look good. Looking for one of those covers for my TT's hard as a rock wheel.

Unrelated: hit a pot hole Saturday and started getting a wicked racket from the right rear suspension. Found that one of the sway bar links had broken off and was bouncing around.
Ordered replacements and installed them today.
Noise is still there. Turns out I snapped an upper shock mount, and the sway bar link wasn't even related.

Sigh

I finally got around to the blower motor regulator recall. Their inspection found the usual issues of OFHG, VGC and Oil Cooler Gasket for $4827, I'll plan on DIY when it warms up. In the meantime, I couldn't help but admire this beauty.

Refurbished my M-Sport steering wheel trim as it was peeling. Soaked it in acetone which makes the rubberized coating come off with ease. Sprayed it with semi-gloss black paint. Not bad for an hour of free time vs. $150 USD for a replacement.

The orange peel gives it a nice textured effect

Very nice job. Have you considered getting this part vinyl wrapped? I bought some but haven't attempted it yet.

Thanks dude! Glad I could help convince you to spend more $ All I can say is use the double sided tape liberally, line up the seams along the existing stitching, and don't be afraid to pull it tight! This DIY is 90% patience, 10% skill.

After driving with it I couldn't stop feeling thrilled with this. This is easily in my top 5 mods on this car now as it's something you touch literally all the time you drive. The feeling of a brand new, soft leather steering wheel is well worth the $30 and couple hours of labor! And best of all - it's still heated

Going to be putting my M-Sport wheel for sale ASAP. It took me a while to hunt down one in such great condition, lol. Ah well.

Here's another photo. Pardon the filthy footwells - I hate winter.

Is that just a standard sport steering wheel with the thumb inserts/pop-outs and that aftermarket stitching cover?! That looks amazing! If so, I need to find a sport wheel asap!

Correct! Just a normal heated Sport steering wheel with a re-wrap/stitched cover.

Congrats, and looking good. On the mods, where do I begin with lots available. You you ask me, I do 3 stage IM and upgrade brakes, but pending preferences, a full LED conversion might be good too, and easy way is to turn off bulb check and nice BMW allows you to do this.

Or just drive and enjoy!

Yeah, it's cheesy but I dig this new blue start button. For $5 off eBay, can't go wrong!

Thanks. The covers by Xuji/MeWant are all good. They key is the patience and attention to detail during the install.
I bought mine from https://www.ebay.com/usr/mooventstev...72.m2749.l2754

Great customer service and quick shipping, too.

Was leisurely driving home from a movie and the dreaded "Service Engine Soon" light came on randomly! I pulled the codes and 29F4 Catalytic Convertor popped up. This may be O2 sensor related or bad cats, so I'm telling the wife that I need to go catless I'm a glass half-full kind of guy.

I need to redo the 3 o'clock position as it's lifting/wrinkled a bit there. For my first attempt at something like this, I think it's not bad. If I had to do it over again I'm confident I could do a much better - almost perfect job. For now, it's a solid 8/10 and a huge improvement vs. the terribly worn stock wheel.
You might want to wait a while on rewrapping and see if it shrinks/molds into place. When I did mine several months ago, I had wrinkles/looseness at 6 and 9 o'clock but they have flattened out/tightened up over time. And I did wrap mine without taking off the wheel, not by choice but just because I got frustrated trying to get the wheel off. Just could not get it. Yes, it would have been much easier with the wheel off.
