Many people report the DAC's seem to help some as opposed to the weak
DAC.s and output from phones but its better to bypass the aux if you can.(As reviewed in the first 5 pages in this thread)
Some of the aftermarket amps have various kinds of Inputs.

I'm sorry am I missing something, how do any of the mentioned products bypass the aux in? They all seem to go through the cars OEM aux in port

Your question is irrelevant. You have to look at the audio signal chain to find the weakest link. In this case the weakest link is the AUX-in circuitry of the OEM HU. It degrades the signal considerably compared to CD playing through the HU. So even if you had CD quality coming into the AUX input, the signal would then be degraded and always be sub-standard. It can sound pretty good, but not great, and never as good as from the CD player.

Once you eliminate the AUX in circuitry, we can talk about the quality of the DAC, and how it compares to CD. I'm actually feeding the signal from a FiiO DAC directly into the sound processor in the trunk, completely eliminating the OEM HU circuit. Then the bottleneck becomes the source material (digital music files), the transmission rate of Airplay, and the quality of the DAC.

This guy has the answer to the bad aux quality problem!! Somebody understand how he has done this?

- Agreed, it would have been a lot more useful had the poster expanded a bit on his solution.

When he says sound processor in the trunk I think he means
his aftermarket sound processor in the trunk . Probably a Helix
but it would be nice if he was specific about it.

The other products that feed the aux probably give a higher quality more robust signal to the aux than what comes out or a phone or ipod but not the best solution as it requires more analog to digital stages and you are still going through the known weakness of the aux.

So what would you recommend with regards to the aux. FYI I have an aftermarket amp in the trunk with free RCA inputs and have been told I can hook up a Bluetooth adapter directly to them

You have to check what is offered and how easy it is to
use . Most of these methods are not likely to have steering wheel
controls as far as I know . Fidelity may vary depending on
the technology used ie wi fi vs aptex bluetooth vs apple lossless.

I know Helix makes its own adapter for some of its amp/dsp's
