Never taken my car to Classic but BMW Dallas has never given me any trouble. I go in fully-modded pretty much every time (I usually remove the tune depending on what I'm going in for, but they know I have it). I've been through 3 SAs there and none of them have ever said anything about my mods. They do put more miles on my car than they should every time I bring it in, though. I think they use it for Starbucks runs.

They usually take it for a 15 mi test drive after work is completed to make sure nothing is wrong. My car was the same way.

15 mi seems a little excessive to me, but I'm glad they are at least checking everything thoroughly. Also, they pretty much always leave Starbucks cups and/or napkins in my car, so that adds to my suspicion of the Starbucks runs, lol.

Sweet. I think I might have a sticky wastegate also. I don't have a SA yet, I bought the car 3-4 months ago and just now need to take it in. Who is yours?

Cool thanks. I live 2 mins away from classic so I would rather go there.

If I must I guess I will take it to bmw dallas but prefer Classic because of location as stated above. Who's you SA? I currently don't have one since I recently got the car.

Walnut blasting

Just wanted to let everyone know, last Friday I had Sammy blast my car. He did an amazing job. The car definitely needed it after 70k+. I would highly recommend him if you guys are looking into this. As for before and after pics, just look up Motastic's post. His pics could pretty much be from my car. I have pics but am too lazy to post them up.

Nice. I most definitely need to get this done. Every time there is a group buy on here I have a scheduling conflict or my car is in the shop

I actually asked my SA at BMW Dallas how much they charge for this out if curiosity and he said they didn't even offer it.

May be a little out of your way but I use a small family-owned shop here in East Dallas called Ross Discount Tires (name sounds ghetto but they do good work). A few months back I cracked one of my wheels and they did an excellect job fixing it. They also re-powdercoated it (the finish was scratched) and matched the color and finish exactly. Price was good, too. They are a really small shop on the corner of Greenville and Ross Ave. I've been going to them for years actually. Nice, honest guys.

Thanks for the info. I got some curb rash on one of my wheels repaired and the color doesn't match. I'm wary to take it back to the same place so I'll check them out. I assume the re-powdercoating is an overnight process?

Yep, I brought the wheel to them on Monday morning and it was repaired and powdercoated Tuesday after work. I didn't even request the powdercoating -- he just did it since he was fixing the wheel. Didn't charge me extra for it either. Wheel repair runs about $130-150 and if I recall they usually charge something like $100 a wheel for powdercoating.

It helps if you speak Spanish to them but my husband knows zero spanish and they're still nice to him lol. (East Dallas ftw)

Sorry I didn't make it to the meet. My roommates boyfriend came in town for a surprise visit, he's stationed in Georgia for Army training so we wanted to take him out for drinks.

I had a piece of metal fly up and hit my bumper, hood and fender on westbound 114 near Southlake on the way into work today. I was a good 2 lengths behind a truck and trailer, they drove over the chunk of metal which caused it to go airborne, I jerked to the right as far as I could but it still hit me. The bumper and hood have deep scratches, the fender is missing a piece where it meets the hood and headlight. It doesn't look too bad so i'm not sure how much i'll get from insurance. I was looking for an excuse to get the m-sport bumper, I don't mind paying the difference and I'll call it an early x-mas present.

We have some funky lighting in our parking garage so it's a little blurry.

Can someone suggest a paint body shop that isn't named trade secret?

As long as it didn't hit the ground before it hit your car, then that's a comprehensive claim. DO NOT let your insurance company try to screw you and tell you that you have to claim it against your collision coverage. That way, it won't count against you, and it should give you a lower deductible. Good luck and congrats on the msport upgrade to come lol

This.

An insurance agent once told me, "It ALWAYS 'ran into your car'. You NEVER 'ran into it'." Words of wisdom.
