Great photos, really shows off the quality on our BMW Angel Eyes. Again thank you Kev for the pictures, a job well done indeed as it can be tricky getting good shots of these LEDs

I installed the 20w angel eyes on my LCI halogen E90 last weekend. They look great but I have noticed that my o/s outer ring is not as bright as the n/s outer ring. Is this normal?

Hi,

Yes this sounds normal, due to way the rings are designed and with the bulb being fitted into the centre of the inner rings. If you look at it from a distance (as if to say your an oncoming driver) these should look very different. It all depends on the angle you look at them from too.

Also if you have a look through this thread there is a better explanation somewhere of how these work with a diagram showing how the light is reflected through the rings.

Thanks

Can't seem to find the information you refer to Zain?

I must say it is doing my head in just a wee bit as I can't understand why one side would be brighter than the other

i never fixed them as i couldnt be arsed to remove everything again as it takes ages. my passenger outter is dim and abit green, if this is the bulb im not sure. however i did notice the passenger bulb does not sit tight in like the right one did. i believe this was because of the passenger bracket for the bulbs position had a peice coming out where as the right didnt

Hey Raj,

If you get a chance to fit them could you take some pictures and email them to me so I can have a look and hopefully make some recommendations?

Thanks,

Zain

Hi,

Yes they are completely safe, remember LEDs are low power consumption bulbs. Also your cars wiring is designed to handle up to 55W

Thanks

Damn. You really do need small hands to fit these. I just had ten minutes to try and had to give up as the darkness came!

It'll be next weekend before I get another chance now.

So this may be a daft question...

Just received my H8 40w gold LEDs and they come with 4 ballasts.

Do I need to use all 4?

Found a previous post that says that 2 ballasts are extra with the 40w if you get radio interference but these are not normally needed. Assume this is the same for the gold edition too.
