Good race either way.
Totally agree, I shift at about 6,200

The autos still put down less power though, when compared to 6mt cars. From a roll into triple digit speeds, if shifted quick enough, the 6mt has better gearing for top end
SOOOO many fanbois & their tunes

The 6MT has better gearing for high-speeds & will have slightly lower drivetrain loss (maybe good for 10 HP/10 TQ). From a low-speed roll (like 40 mph) the AT has better gearing (setup for better acceleration) & will cancel out the drivetrain loss.

After 75 MPH the MT is going to shine, but until then the AT is going to be faster thru the gears & get you up to speed quicker. The COBB OTS Maps are INCREDIBLY conservative, especially since people are seeing basically 50 HP/50 TQ gains with ProTune/Custom Maps.

Nice runs!! Don't forget he still has map 7 as well.. . I have a friend that is 6 mt FBO with Cobb s2+ and I was running Jb4 with DP, DCI and e85 6at. I had to go to map 2 to make the race somewhat even. We do need to do some more runs so get some better comparisons.

Lol, if this was really about comparing tunes I don't think it's fair to compared at vs mt. If the Cobb car was auto and won you can bet all the burger fanboys would be bitching too.

This is a little off topic, but if someone with a 6MT never let off the gas when shifting (powershifted) wouldn't the car basically act the same way as an auto by staying in boost between shifts?

The DME would probably either:
a)close the throttle plate on it's own in response to an overboost condition
b)flatline/pull timing

Very hard to do without flatlining timing.

We actually have another Cobb FBO car local that's an AT, maybe we can get him to run Stucks.

Unless he's pro tuned it's a waste of time. Your best chance is to re-run him again from a 60 roll and shift around 62-6500 rpm. Roll all your windows up, ac off, tires properly inflated etc. - basically roll racing 101.

The JB4 doesn't have no shift lift? I know the PROcede does.

It might have made a difference in this race if you had the ability to do so.

When i was buying my car, aaaaaall my friend kept telling me:"you HAVE to buy that car stick, its a sports car *derp*!" i told them to go fuck themselves because they dont know shit and bought an AT, and again, super happy with it. Launches are perfect, no boost loss while shifting, yada yada... But sticks are more fun to drive thats for sure.

LOL @ this ---

So here is whats going on - Dean's car has a base file that I sent him the other day. What he is calling protuned is the file he got to get some logs and report back. Then we will update teh car and actually start tuning it. We'll refilm the race once he is actually tuned and not running a base map. I always love seeing the comments of people who talk about things they don't understand.

Dean - send the 002 logs and I'll send you something back that will require the camera to be on his car so you stay in the frame Also shift at 6300ish rpms and shift fast. If you want to meet up tomorrow night we can just belt it out and re-run him.
