Cat A and cat B write offs can't go back on the road. Cat A everything has to be crushed and cat B can have parts salavaged then crushed. I think their trying to get the most ££££ he can by playing dumb!

You'd both be correct:

Category B Insurance Write Off - the vehicle must not be used again but non- structural and roadworthy parts and components may be recovered for use in other vehicles. I'm struggling to see where there's anywhere near £17k in parts, everything's bent or ruined by airbags... I wouldn't even want the engine after its had a bump like that. I think the guys dreaming

Engine if working is worth at least 10k+ id say prob 12k.

A working 'box probably 5-6k.

Brakes gotta be worth a fair chunk also.
