Before/After
Chrome looks better. Black plastic is boring. Especially on a black car.
It's a shame so many people do this. It looks very cheap if you ask me.

I agree with ballistic, the car needs a little contrast. If you want more black I'd paint the silver trim on the lower portion of the bumper black. Just my .02

It's a matter of opinion. Personally i prefer the black grill and it looks good with the double slats

I agree with the other two posters, when I had my BSM e92 I ran black slats with Chrome trim.

The gloss black grilles don't match the paint so it needs the chrome outline to not look cheap, in my opinion.

I get it, and I can see how people might think that. As for b92, at least mine isn't BSM, it's Jet black, so the paint match is quite close. I may grow old of them eventually, so I did keep the OEM grills if I ever want to switch back. I've been only trying to go for small and tasteful mods to the car, and I thought this gave it a bit more of an aggressive look on the front. I don't like the full "murdered out" look, I just wanted to get rid of the only chrome on the car outside of the "328i" badge. I'm a bit surprised to see all the hate on them. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Chrome belongs on classic cars. The e90 ain’t a classic car.

And plastic fake chrome belongs on no car, ever.

Beautiful day to take the bimmer out. Just put new Rohana wheels on a few weeks back.

Thanks to flbmr and Carter999 for the new wheels and MPSS.
