Front strut boot

Hello,

I was replacing my front struts. Prior strut protectors/boots were in a bad shape and exposed the strut shaft. To my surprise, though new protectors are better, they too ride up and expose the shaft, just as in the picture (borrowed from m3post by delirium330).

Is there a way to fix it? I used sachs replacement ones and figure that I could either fix them in place with a zip tie or by forcing one of the plastic folds under the rubber spring seat (labour intensive).

Had the same issue. When I installed new boots, I used 3m weatherstrip adhesive (it is a guey yellow contact cement in a tube) to secure it in place. It seems to be holding up!

It's only exposed when the front of the car is jacked up. Once the weight of the car is on the wheels the strut compresses and the boot covers everything.
