Low oil pressure at idle only. Plus weird electronic screech when engine off. Help!

Evening all,

I was driving home from work and when I came to a stop my red oil pressure warning popped up.
I immeditsly stopped and noticed if I just lifted the RPM 1% off idle the light disappeared. I also checked with mhd and has no error codes. Oil level still full and sounded fine with no visible leaks.
So I limped her the couple miles home and immediately checked the oil filter.
Was full of oil and no shavings etc.
Seroentije belt in one peice and no obvious leaks.

However as I was checking I noticed this electronic screeching sound. Vid attached.

I'm getting it towed to my indy tomorrow, but anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks! https://youtu.be/TKqun_8BwKA

Oil changed under 3k ago, has been driving fine the last few weeks. Apart from that infamous surge under very light throttle.
I may have a very slight injector leak that's recently developed, as I noticed that bank 2 afr can occasionally take a second to balance with bank 1 when letting off.

I checked plugs (not injectors doh) a couple weeks ago and all dry.
Regardless, was planning on the injector change but this has moved to top of the list.
Car was driving great, oil temp was in expected range then the light popped on as I stopped and idles for a few seconds.

Car is on 78k

Check the oil pressure sensor. Pull the connector (plenty of Youtube videos on this) and see if there is oil in the plug. FCP sells a replacement sensor for $5. I just went through these exact symptoms on my e91 a few weeks ago, except for the screeching.

Thanks for the reply.
I got one from euro car parts in the UK for £8.
I'll fit it and see if it changes it.
That noise is concerning as well though, no idea what that is or how it's related if at all to this oil issue.

I'm under the bonnet and under the car a lot and never heard that before..

Just popped the plug for pressure senor and it's soaked in oil. Just about to pick up the replacement. I'll let you know how it goes..
Thanks again!

Afternoon all,

I fitted the sensor and was amazed at how much oil was in the connector of the old one. It literally dripped out.

I fired her up and didn't get the warning.
Next test is to take her for a roll around my street to get her fully up to temp.
I will report back confirming the fix.

Thanks again to the repyls and this forum, has literally saved me thousands.

Solved!

All tested and back where we should be.
Spent a good time slowly driving building some heat and then resting idle, didn't quite get up to the 120's as she does in summer, but at the state of that sensor I'm sure that's the issue.

Thanks!
