Need help - harsh ride, do I need to replace anything?

I have a 2008 335xi with 100,000 miles/165,000 km. Suspension is original.

My ride is very harsh, if I hit even a little bump or pothole it sounds like a bomb went off in my car. I also have some creaking noises when going up or down my driveway curb (I think this usually means control arms need replacing?)

I snapped some pictures of my front wheel wells and nothing seems to be leaking. Many of the parts are rusted but is that going to cause them to fail?

Do I just need to replace the struts? Any advice appreciated. Thanks.
