You should post a picture of your car. I've seen many people doing bold colors on cars that aren't modded enough to pull off the color. I really like matte pearl white though.

This is such a vague post lol

You can search wrapped vehicles in the photo for your best bet.

Since it would be at a friends shop and you aren't doing it yourself, I would say go for it but color and style is totally a personal preference sort of deal.

What are we working with and what look are you going for?

Vinyl wrap has gone a long way and their quality is quite close to paint. Obviously they don't last as long as paint, but the bright side is they are completely reversible and they do a very good job at protecting your paint, especially the roof which is exposed to sun UV the most. Vinyl wrap has so many exotic colors to choose from as well. Like others have said, a simple google search would yield many results and images of fully wrapped cars.

I'd say go for it. Now also keep in mind that a good wrap also depends on your current paint condition. If you have a lot of paint chips or deep scratches, you will find bubbles at those flaws. May be a good idea to fill those chips/scratches to even out the surface for a better vinyl wrap application.

Oooh really? I'd love to do the same to my e93 too. I'm guessing $4k but every region is different.

@dgritti I suggest a blue. The matte blue wraps always look best if you want something that stands out that isn't cheesy too.

I'm sure where you live makes a difference on the labor cost. If there are a lot of competitions in your area, then I'm sure you can find a good deal.

Material can cost between $500-1200 depends on what brand and color of vinyl you buy. Labor is anywhere between $1000-$3000.

Matte blue will stand out and looks dope. I wouldn't personally do the carbon fiber hood but it will look nice

~$600-700 diy; metrorestyling or autovinylsolutions.

I wanted to wrap my car during the summer. Started with the roof, did it twice, came out great (my mechanic could not believe it was a DIY) but the m3 bumper proved too tricky.

If you have the time and patience, definitely try to do it yourself. It's fun and rewarding and possibly another source of income lol
