I'm into Seiko's... they are the best bang for your buck. This is my second favorite next to my Seiko Springdrive Diver.
I got it second hand from Kelly. http://www.network54.com/Forum/17022...ge/1179376133/ |

Whynot? It adds value and looks better in some cases. Some watches I would never put diamonds on like a franck muller crazy hours or a classic patek or a bell and ross but thats because those are true watches with great movements and you and anyone else who knows anythign about watches knows the real value of it. But as far as rolex cartier breitling diamonds too me are a must because everyone has them so somehow you need to differentiate yourself from others. Or thats just me.

I'm not sure about the other makers, but I know for a fact that no Rolex watch leaves the factory with diamonds or other gemstones applied to the case.
It first started when some dealers replaced the watch face with one with diamond markers and then came diamond/jewel surround bezels and pavee watch faces. All are aftermarket parts of varying quality and, IMHO, are in very poor taste. |

I stand corrected.

Thanks for the info. Tiffany used to say diamonds on men's jewelery was tacky and they would never offer it. I just went to their website and did a quick search; and cuff links came up with diamonds. What's the world coming to? |

Well, if you simply must have a diamond encrusted Rolex and are on a budget, you can easily save yourself some money.
Buy a used Rolex from a reputable dealer and then buy the diamond accents on eBay and have them installed by a watch repair shop. Things like a diamond bezel and diamond face are easy to for them to install. Save the old parts. |

I found a company, tnsdiamonds, that makes diamond bezels, so im contemplating buying that one for 2700 or another one (without diamonds) for 1100 and getting a bezel made, i need to see how much cheaper (or more expensive) that route would be.

Is this what you mean?
Have you looked into a company called Wingates that buys/sells used watches from just about every maker? I have personally sold some of my watches to them and they've been in business for a long time.
They seem to have a nice selection of diamond Rolexes in your price range. http://www.tic-tock.com/wingates/wat...mond/pg/0/128/ How about this one for $2795? |

if you want a watch that keeps great time, buy a seiko quartz watch. almost any quartz watch will be more precise than an automatic/mechanical watch even if it's a rolex or even a 90k$ patek philippe.
if you want a watch that will break more often than a 335i's fuel pump, buy a breitling. they look nice but they are built very poorly. my buddy's breitling's crown popped off when he was trying to set the time, then the replacement watch that breitling sent him fogged up the first time he went swimming with it...breitling quality control is pitiful. Best bang for the buck watch as far as quality and time keeping IMO is a Seiko. If you want to impress people that dont know shit about watches, buy a rolex. IF you want a tough & cool reasonably priced watch that will last forever and keep decent time, buy a Seiko Marine Master or a nice used Grand Seiko. If time is your sole purpose in buying the watch, buy an atomic quartz watch. |

I think what you need to do is ignore all the pops and clicks here, and buy the watch that YOU want. After all, you're the one that will be wearing it. |

So I went from all that fancy diamond crap to realizing not worth spending all my money on a watch, looking at omega seamasters...what do you think...
