OFHG - need advice
Howdy, all.
I just stared replacing the Oil Filter Housing Gasket and have been surprised to find: 1) some gooey, milky material inside a coolant hose (where it attaches to the OFHG), and 2) some rough areas inside coolant passages within the Housing. I'm curious if either or both should be cause for concern? I'm going to attempt to attach / post pictures of each - would very much others' take on this. Thanks! |

You may have contaminated your oil with coolant while removing the oil filter housing as some oil may have seeped down into the coolant opening, especially if you did not remove the oil filter cap to allow the oil to drain from the housing properly
You will most likely have to drain and refill your coolant a couple of times to get all the oil out. It's recommended to change the coolant anyway. Also that just seems like a lot of sludge and gunk from the oil if that what you mean by the rough edges. Good luck. |
