Map update not recognized
Hello guys,today I tried to update maps on my e91 2009 but my car didn't recognize update.My ignition was on and usb was formatted to fat32.Help me!!What should I do??
******Edited**** my car is produced before 2010 and it has old cic firmware which does not support usb method so i had to use telnet method with enet cable to get 1bfile and update maps usind dvd method Last edited by kushtrim.e91; 11-08-2021 at 03:22 PM.. |

Your NAV might have old firmware that does not support a USB update.

I also had this same problem and unfortunately I never figured it out. Please update if you do. I did have the "check mark and i" in bottom left corner which is supposed to mean it's possible

Look at post #2 in this thread to see what the check mark looks like. If you have the check mark your navigation firmware is new enough to support USB updating.

Use a USB drive with an an board LED that normally lights up when plugged in.
Then check the glovebox port by inserting that drive. Does it light up? If not you have your answer. |

There are two USB downloads I believe.
One lets you use multiple usb drives and is basically the contents of each respective DVD. That is what you want. Just burn the contents of each separate file into a closed session DVD. The other is for a single USB and cannot fit on a DVD. |
