12mm Spacer Rubbing? =S

Greetings all,

I have an '09 E92 335 M-Sport on 225M rims and stock suspension. I put 12mm Rogue Engineering spacers on the rear and I notice rubbing when I go over big bumps or when people are sitting in the back and take a moderately hard turn. Is this normal? Should I go down to 10mm?

Thanks!

Doesn't matter if it's normal...you are rubbing. Roll your fenders if it is that concerning, it'll go right away.

True, bad question. I guess I wonder if I should be concerned. When I do super hard cornering with no one in the car - no rubbing. Only when I pretty much bottom out do i hear rubbing. I have 10mm spacers lying around, I might try them instead. My friend with an M3 says, who cares if it is rubbing a bit... it looks good! =P LOL

Depending on how severe it is rubbing, a slight fender roll can solve the issue. Going down to a 10mm spacer may not solve the issue since it is quite minimal.

Ahhhh yes! I was thinking that too. 2mm is not that much. Gotta look for a good place in Toronto to do a fender roll.

Will rubbing once in a while causes permanant and signficant damage to the car?

Also the thinner spacer you get, the greater chance you have to crack or break the spacer. This is especially true for any spacer under 15mm

look on some local car forums in Toronto, I promise you will find someone with a fender roller and the knowledge how to use it.

Depending on where it is rubbing on the fender or fender liner, it may not cause any damage at all if it rubs once in a while.
