12 or 15mm rear spacer for e90 LCI 335xi M sport?
Hey guys,
I have a 2011 335xi M sport with staggered 193 type wheels (18x8 ET34 / 18x8.5 ET37). Even thou I run 255 in the back, the rear wheel seems to be more inward than the front (not only by 3mm). The front seems to align well, but the back not really... So I decided to put some hub-centric spacers and am stuck between 12mm and 15mm...some say the 15mm cause some rubbing and I should go with 12mm, while others don't seem to have had any issues So I have a few questions:
Can anyone that has a similar car/setup share their experience? Thx P.S. Does anyone know what the length of the OEM bolts are? I know they are M12x1.5, but some are 40mm, others 42 and others 45... |

every tire is different. 255 can fit like 265, or 245.
Spacers in general past 5mm is not good for your wheel bearing but it's not a turbocharger so you will know when it fails and it's not too expensive either. Instead of worrying about holes, get a hub centric spacers and stud conversion kit. I recommend H&R stud kit if you don't care about color of the studs and you can find good solid spacers on w/ 72.56mm center. |

I have same car as you, same wheels. Mine is stock suspension. I put 12mm on rear with no issues. I think I would have actually preferred 10mm but then there is the whole hub seating issue/risk so 12 was max for me.

For the winter, I have also downsized to 17" M5 wheels square setup and will be going for the rears from 255/35/18 ET37 to 225/45/17 ET35, so, because I've now retracted the rears by 4mm, the 12mm spacers should push the rears out by 8mm compared to OEM, which will level with the fronts Quote:
