15 MM spacers Quick Questions...
Ok, I am about to order a set of 15mm spacers.. I hear the consensus is "Buy the RE" since they are a quality product and this is something you don't want to skimp out on. I am going to be putting these on my 156's and I hear 15mm is the size to get. All i want to is to make them not look so tucked in, and closer to flush with the body!
2 Questions... Are the ones in the pic the ones to get ($115) ? Anyone have a pic of the 15mm on 156's before and afters? I have found pics for 162's but nothing for 156's? I Know KL2DC did this exact thing, but I couldn't find any pics of his, anyone else? |

I've been using 12mm on my 328 coupe, and it looks pretty flush to me, no problems at all, and i am using Eibach spacers, but RE has good reputation too

Here you go Richard...hope that helps
Btw the RE spacers are nice and they come with the required correct length lug bolts. One less thing to worry about. IMHO, the 15mm spacers works best to make the 156s/standard suspension setup look half-decent.... 1st pic: before, 2nd and 3rd pic with RE 15mm spacers on, as you can see they're definitely more flush.

Wrt performance, I can't say if the minute increase in rear track had any beneficial or detrimental effect on the way the car drives (which is a good thing). Although, initially I thought that the car was a little bit more responsive at the helm but have since discounted that as imaginary. I also can't say if the car understeers more. I suppose 15mm really isn't a big deal. Wrt high speed stability I've had no problems.
Be sure to get the Saab bolt caps to go with the RE spacers. Remember the new lug bolts are silver in color so you'd either have to paint the heads or cap them. Also 15mm really is the max safe limit, I'd stick with that and nothing more. GL and pls share pics after install.

Thanks as always Donny! i totally am going to order them! Are the ones on this page the ones to get?
http://www.rogueengineering.com/Merc...tegory_Code=WH They make the car look so much better! Thanks for the fast response! Did you put them on yourself? Is spray paint what you used to paint the bolt heads? P.S. I never knew you debadged your car! Looks nice! |

Anytime! Yep those look to be the exact ones I ordered/bought. I did in fact installed them myself, not an entirely easy task mind you, those 156/RFT combos weigh a ton and it was a real b*tch aligning the wheel, spacers and hub to put the lug bolts through. Just follow paul330d's DIY from the DIY master list and you'd be alright. It really doesn't hurt to have a friend give you a hand. I used the Saab bolt caps. bavarian19 and I got them from: http://www.stateofnine.com/page/stat...ROD/LugNutCaps Reference thread: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...saab+bolt+caps credit: andrew330i for the discovery
