Should have replaced all four with conventional tires, not all that much more money, and no more bubbles!

YOu can run good non-run flats, and get a spare through http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...7&startrow=151 (www.getbmwparts.com) if worried about getting a flat. It's a spare that will fit in the trunk compartment. Problem solved!

donut spare is 4" thick fits in back of trunk just fine, still room for standard size roll-aboard suitcase above it. Tools, jack, etc. fit under the trunk mat in pockets designed for them, but left empty by BMW!

Turn it dish-side up and you have room for spare oil, 12v inflator, gloves, etc.

See numerous threads in this forum for some pictures.

Scott, either Americas/discount tires has their warranty. They would replace those tires and you would be out of pocket the cost of a new warranty on that tire. Possibly mounting/balancing too.
For expensive tires that's good insurance. Others have the warranty but check their fine print.

Why should it be covered? The OP hit a pothole and damage his tires. That's the problem with low profile tires.

That said, I'd have brought up the overinflation with the dealership and then brought it to BMWNA's attention as that surely contributed to the problem. It is too late now.

RFTs have nothing to do with this. 18 or 19" wheels with skinny sidewalls are the culprit.

VW drivers had similar issues with the 18" wheels of the R32's in 2008. Some blamed it on the non-RFTs that VW used, but the bottom line is that skinny sidewalls will damage easier.

A bubble merely means that the internal structure is damaged which would theoretically mean that RFTs are less susceptible.

I think it's the brand of runflat tires. My mom's minivan (Toyota Sienna) came with runflats, and I shit you not, she went through 6 tires in under a year. My dad's old 07 650i had Continental runflats, 0 problems. My 10 328 has Continental runflats...0 problems. I mean...I hate to throw a product under the bus...but when everyone complains about shitty bridgestone runflats...I think maybe we should avoid them like the plague. And I'll be honest, while my conti's are no where near as comfortable as regular tires, they aren't bad. I just notice it in bumps in the road, hitting a slightly recessed manhole cover feels/sounds like im hitting a brick. But road noise isn't bad at all.

The Bridgestone OEM runflats are NOTORIOUS for sidewall bubbles at the slightest provocation. Other brands are better, and conventional tires are better still, even (especially?) in 18 and 19 inch wheel sizes.

That sucks! I had the same problem with my RFTs. But what about the bubbles that we don't see on the inside of the tire? We could go for months if not longer without knowing that the sidewalls have been compromised on the inside of the tires.

Why the hell are you still on runflats? After one bubble and 3 bent suspension parts, I switched to normal tires. It's a little better now, but I'm lowered now too.

For those of you that think the Bridgestones are the problem, my mom got bubbles on two of her stock Michelin RFT's. And those cost almost $400 a piece, $100 more than the 'stones.

About the skinny sidewalls, I ran low profile tires on my mustangs for years on the same roads I drive now and never had an issue with bending suspension parts and ruining tires like I have on the BMW. I understand saving weight, but why make suspension arms out of aluminum on a road car?
