Problem/Question: i-Drive Conversion (UK to HK)

So I recently switched out of my e92 330i to a e82 1M.

Problem is....I got the new car imported from the UK and its fricking stuck on the UK i-Drive system with the UK maps installed.

I've asked BMW HK if they can convert it for me, but they told me that it is impossible, and that even if I did it, the screen would flicker and would not work 100% correctly.

Is this true? I'm trying really hard to believe it and live with the fact that I will be stuck with the UK maps forever, but its just a computer, and all the hardware is there, so why can't I change the maps or software to the Hong Kong version?

IF IT IS possible, does anyone know where I can do it?

im pretty sure they can jus flash ur system for u. its like a windows installed on a pc. even tho it has uK software previously, u can always install the hk version.
it is like that sometimes, dealers do give shit n inaccurate advice!

but y do u need maps in hk tho?

i just want my car to be a bit more functional since i opt'd for the idrive system, and it kinda pisses me off sometimes how I can't have the maps display anything hahaha

do you know of anyone that can do this for me?
