Ask him how did he code it? Ask him on the brands he used.... you have the right to know what he used in your car. DN |

So car misfired yday again went into limp mode on motorway... I was convinced that the misfire only really occurs when WOT (as it always seems to happen on the motorways when gunning it down the slip road to join the motorway), and if it drive the car nice and dont push it too much I never seem to get the misfire.
Anyway out of interest I swapped the misfiring cylinders coilpack to another one so I could recheck my diagnostics to see if it followed the pack. Anyway I did that yday took the car for a long hard ride and it didn't misfire. Also driven loads today, driving the car differently and mixing it up to see if it could get it to misfire and its not done since. Maybe I was wrong and It wasn't occurring during WOT, and it was just random. if it was a faulty injector, wouldn't you expect it to be misfiring quite often.

Maybe one of the coils you swapped wasn't seated properly...

You can't just move an injector. Both injectors would need to be coded to the new location and you ruin the seal when you move them around. You need to find a new shop.

Misfire after changing injectors coils plugs and all fuel pumps.
Hey guys I have an 07 335i stage 2 plus MHD
I've changed all coils with bosh and plugs with bosh Changed all injectors index 11 and coded them Every time I start my car when it's cold (cold start) it will rev up like it should when cold then drops to normal idle but begins to misfire and shake keeps saying cylinder 4. Once o clear it and drive it. It doesn't misfire I can floor it on all 16psi of boost and car has no problem no stutters or anything. But once I slow down to a stop and it idles it idles rough but not enough to say misfire it will only misfire on a cold start. If it's warm at all it just shakes a little like a misfire but won't throw a code. Anyone have any idea. I assume it could be my DME but I haven't done a compression check yet. Also car just pops when I let off gas it dumps fuel and runs really rich but I don't have any cats all I have is a resonator. Please help if you know . Once again Changed plugs Changed coils Changed injectors All new and coded Changed hpfp Changed lpfp No leaks or wet plugs anywhere Car has 192k miles Walnut blasted it already Has hard charge pipe and bov |

Where did you get index 11 injectors? Are they new or what? Could injector #4 be leaking and causing the mis-fire and rich condition? You say no wet plugs, but have you shut the engine down when it is misfiring and then pulled plug #4 to check the condition of the electrodes?
To rule out a faulty spark plug or coil (even new ones can fail), I would swap coil #4 with coil #1 and see if the mis-fire codes moves to #1 or stays with #4. If the mis-fire stays at #4, then I would swap spark plugs between #1 and #4. If the mis-fire code stays with #4, then it is likely injector related. Now swap injector #1 and #4 and see if the mis-fire code stays with #4 or moves to #1. |

I have the same issue as you, replaced VCG, coils, plugs and now I'll replace all 6 injectors with brand new 11s tomorrow. Fingers crossed. EDIT: Forgot to update but replacing all 6 injectors completely fixed my issues Last edited by Mircea; 03-07-2019 at 09:57 AM.. |
