Small mod in a sunday afternoon.
Rear fog lights enabled.
I found out that my car already has the two white pieces required for the mod. just need to cut the clips.

How long did this take you to do and how do I confirm I have the necessary pieces in my coupe without pulling out the switch?
This mod has been long overdue for me. Thanks in advance |

took me about 15 minutes. it would be longer if i didn't have the white pieces, because i'd have to find a piece to fit in there.
I think newer models have it. so you don't need to buy anything, just to cut the clips that block the button. best way is to take off the switch. pretty easy. all adjusted by clips.

rear fog light turns the inner brake light on. (the 'brake force display' brake light) and leaves it on.
anyone who has ever driven in very dense fog knows that you can't even see the car a few meters in front of you. the rear fog light is brighter to shine through the fog so cars behind you will know there is a car up there and don't end up rear ending you. i remember driving in dense fog out east one morning and the only time i knew there was a car in front of me was when they hit their brake lights or turn signal, otherwise it was just a blanket of gray, couldn't even see the end of the hood. |

I think a thorough write up is needed to get the gist of this upgrade/mod. I'm also interested in doing this myself. Rear fogs are considered a necessity in Europe but are underestimated in NA.

Great mod indeed. Have this for about 3 years now.
I had to make my own piece for this. Great to use in fog situations but also great to get those that tailgate off your back :-) |

Because in NA a lot of people use front foglights as an everyday thing or part of their headlights. In Europe they are more educated on using foglights. So they don't use it unless there is fog.

now it makes sense. thanks for the explanation!
i might have to look into this...i've always wondered about a solution to tail-gaters... my technique right now is to slam on my brakes for a split second to scare the shit out of them, and watch (laughing) as they back off...works every time!

My point exactly, using rear fogs is necessary especially for thick fog situations. My Jag has them and I use them for snow, rain and foggy conditions. Not many people tailgate Jaguars these days.

I agree. But unless there is no other ambient lighting on the road and the weather is really $hitty, having the front fogs on is like having a third tit. TBH, I think rear fogs are much more important. It allows you to see the car in front of you when in dense fog. Fogs don't let you see any better when it's dense. Then again a third boob can be pretty cool.
