BMW e91 316i -09 overheating

Hey.

A few days ago I got stranded by the road. I was driving normally when all of a sudden a yellow temperature warning appeared in the dash. A few hundred meter after this it turned red and the engine power was lost. I parked by the side of the road and connected my veepeak.

I got two different error codes.
2EF7 (DME MAP Thermostat - activation)
2E82 (Electrical cooling pump - switch off)

The local mechanic told me it would cost 1100$ to replace those parts.

Is it likely both parts are broken, or is it likely the thermostat cut the cooling pump off? I’ve not noticed any leaks of anything like that. This caught my by surprise.

Friendly regards,
Rilleee
