MHD Wifi OBDII Adapters

Not sure if it has been posted here yet but for anyone using MHD these new wireless OBDII adapters are a must have. Much faster and more reliable than the OBDII cables we've been using all these years!

Have not flashed with the orange yet but I'm using the black on our M4 now and a full DME write that used to take 20+ min now takes 3, amazing!

It's awesome just got mine yesterday! Works like a charm! No more ugly DCan cable running across my dash.

Any supplier based in Europe? Shipping costs across the pond are more expensive than the adapter itself...

To my knowledge they are actually shipped from Europe to the U.S. distributors, so HAS to be a local European source somewhere.

Can this adapter be left plugged into the OBD port and not drain the battery when the car is off?

They say it can be for those running flash only.

This looks decent actually, I was worried the price would be like $200. Maybe I'm a cheap ass but I kind of find MHD to be a ripoff.

How the heck do you find it to be a ripoff? If you already have a android phone or you get a 100$ Samsung tablet, the maps and logging is still much cheaper than the $600+ Cobb, not to mention just an overall better platform.

Also, MHD is coming out for iOS/iPhones too for those that don't have an android device.

Compared to what? Other cheaper tuning platforms? It literally doesn't get cheaper than mhd.

lmao

Where else can you flash 150whp with OTS maps and some ethanol for $200?

Well I used to have JB4 installed and I could do all my logging for free. My car also came with MHD and an Android tablet + everything already unlocked. I put in my Google account and then all the purchases went away leaving me to have to purchase everything all over again even though my VIN has probably $300 of options enabled (E85 packs, M-boost option, Flasher, Logger)

Mostly I'm annoyed that I had to pay to unlock all the same shit I had before. I don't think its fair that MHD forces you to re-purchase all of the same shit that's already unlocked for your VIN. If I wanted to sell my car I'm not sure how I would give the new owner all of the things I spent good money on. Would you say its fair for MHD to get another $200+ off the next owner just to unlock the same things again?

I thought about creating a Play account just to keep with my car for the MHD purchases but as soon as I spent a dime on it with my Google account this idea was no longer possible. Just annoying I guess.

Wow, I read what you said, but baffled you don't have BMS + backend flash going

I used to run that, was quite happy with it but my motor spun a rod bearing so I replaced the engine. However as soon as I connected the battery I noticed smoke coming from under the intake manifold . Unplugged the battery asap and checked the wiring, had to replace the wiring harness that plugs into the alternator, starter, ac compressor, map sensors etc. But also the short made its way almost to the DME and fried the hell out of my jb4 wiring harness. Check my previous posts for a pic lol

As to how that happened, I'm not positive but I do know the previous owner is a dumb ass! He did some really poor wiring when installing a a Fuel It! Throttle body injection kit and essentially twisted wires together without proper shielding or even soldering.

But yeah I would have only had to buy the flasher module but now I own the logger, flasher and stage 2 map packs. And they're still stuck to my Google account

You my friend, got some issues. Cheers

Well if you're thinking about going tuned again, it's worth the cost and the best platform out.

If the car came with all the mhd maps unlocked why the hell would you wipe it with a fresh login?

Speaking of value. Your old jb4 was $500 btw. lol

Update on this: I personally wouldn't leave it in, I just noticed that even after a couple hours the light on the MHD device is on looking through the window of my car, so it's using some type of energy even though it may be the a minor trickle.

Left the device in over the weekend, 52 hours, car started up normally and no battery drainage code. I do have a 1 year old battery and a mini jumper box just in case.

Left mine in 2 days. Battery chugged to start. Battery 2-3 years old.

I'm not saying that it can't be left in, but the fact that the MHD adapter light is "on" at all times is a little concerning. Wish it had the ability to shut itself off when the car went to sleep.
