Since my shepherd passed away I no longer have to wake up early to take him outside, go for walks regardless of the weather, don’t have to vacuum every couple of days, my windows no longer have tongue marks all over them. But I would do everything all over again in a heart beat if it meant to bring him back. And that is the kind of bond you will get with a dog.
Well said.

Here is my German Shorthair Pointer "Henry". Prior to getting him, my family and I had a German Shepherd so it was definitely a change for us. My dad brought Henry home one day (later we found out it was because Henry was a trained hunting dog). We do go during hunting season. I'll post some more photos later.

Henry is a beautiful dog! The only "hunting" that these two are involved in is "hunting" for another treat from mom or dad...

Love my 2 doggos.
The little one is Finley - a Parson's Russel Terrier/Yorkie/other terriers mix. He's a 5 month old rescue that is as goofy as can be.
The big one is Wesley - a 5 year old Westie. As stubborn as can be.

jgoens - search online for Lab rescues. I have rescued my last 3 Labs....they adapt so well to almost any environment, and Labs are GREAT animals for boys!

Here's my pupper. ♥ The pic with longer fur was taken last month, but she usually sports a shorter cut for the warmer months.

Adopted black/white English bulldog. He's partially deaf but that doesn't stop this big boy from having a good time! (that first pic I flipped his ears back )

Avoided this post for two weeks. Finally took a look today. Beautiful. We put down our 12 year old Airedale/Fox Hound mix Linus the beginning of the month. He was a Katrina rescue and we got him three days before they were to euthanize him. He kept our flower gardens clear of woodchucks for eleven years. He was 8 and 0 until this summer till he started slowing. His left hind leg kept freezing up. Vet found a baseball sized tumor in his groin. Didn't offer any hope. We waited a week hoping outlook would change. I took him to Burger King for breakfast and dinner every day. We called our girls to come home and our vet let him go into front of the fireplace, his favorite spot in the winter. Anyway, beautiful pictures. My wife picked up a frame and put his picture in it with the kids. It says "Thanks for everything...I had a wonderful time".

A few pictures of my youngest, with our Dog. She's a mix: Golden Retriever, Pit, and Rott...and they are actually about the same age. Pics are from 1-2 years ago.
