Lightbulb Cigarette Lighter - Centre Console - Fuse

Hi

I have an Edition M Sport 2008 3 Series. Inside the centre console is a cigarette lighter, never used it but now that I need it (to plug in my Bluetooth adapter) its not working.

Too many threads about this issue. Anyone know where I can replace the 20-amp fuse? I’ve tried #8 but read rumours it could also be #30 - this slot is currently empty.

Fyi the cigarette lighter at the front is running fine.

The fuse for ALL lighters and 12V+ Power Sockets is F30 on all E9x models built BEFORE 9/1/2007, and F8 for models built AFTER 9/1/2007. I'm NOT familiar with the M3, but it appears to have a different setup, and if that's what you have, you need to go to TIS and enter the last 7 characters of your VIN to get circuit information; search "12 V sockets" EDIT: ACTUALLY DON'T use that search term as that gets you special vehicle wiring; SEARCH either: "cigarette lighter" or "charging sockets":
https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/

All Power Sockets are on SAME fuse in ANY E9x model (M3 excluded), so if ONE lighter/Power Socket works and another does NOT, the issue is NOT the fuse, but a loose or disconnected connection (either 12V+ or Ground).

I have the 2013 M3 and same problem as posted in OP. Convenient their little reference chart uses hyroglyphics to describe each fuse. My best guess is it's the no 8 fuse with the - + power logo. It's definitely fried! Will order a new one and see!
