to be honest, nothing I have done to my car has been worth the money for the power. The exhaust (meisterschaft w/ catless midpipes) was barely noticeable in the power department, but it sounds heavenly, so its worth the cash. Same with the intake (m gruppe rep). My BMS pbx tune also wasn't noticably more powerful, but it did make the throttle a lot more fun. That being said, I wouldn't mod your car based on the 3-5 hp gains, but moreso the driving experience such as sound and throttle mapping. Suspension is my biggest suggestion. If you make this car handle like a dream, it is the best performance mod you can do.
Also, you could wait for the superchargers that seem to be on the horizon for our cars

Get headers and the AA tune.
Then suspension upgrades. People don't realize a well setup suspension can allow you to utilize the all the power you have now. |

save up for a 335i if your looking for power, NA are hard to squeeze power out of. but if you prefer the 330i i would say do suspension first

+1 on suspension, and brakes
headers are nice, but getting past emissions would be a major pita, not to mention the only bolt-on option is supersprint which is really expensive |

If you want 'bang for your buck' then do the maths:
Intake / exhaust - $700+ for up to 3 hp increase = $230+/HP BMS Powerbox - $270 for up to 10 hp increase = $27/HP ARMA Supercharger $8000 for 120 hp increase = $66/HP If I had the dosh I'd get the ARMA; would boost my 130i to 380HP! Guaranteed it would sound at least as good as putting on an PF exhaust. FYI, I just put in a BMW powerbox and my Simota CAI is on the way from EU at the moment.

Value upgrades include:
AA Tune ~$450 +8-10 HP Performance air filter + carbon filter delete ~$50-75 + 1 HP Exhaust ~1000 just for that sweet, sweet sound! Unnoticeable HP gains, unless combined with a header swap and full cat delete (legal issues). |
