As long as you don't wipe out, you'll be alright. At last year's event, some idiot actually spun out at the last turn/corner right before the finish line and within close proximity of the waiting participant/tent. Needless to say he was promptly booted out...

That's it? Booted out?

Don't you get a practice run?

Although the course layout seems simple, some parts are quite technical. For e.g. at last year's event the 2nd corner had a noticeable dip which you'd hit right about the time you do your first 1-2 shift. Of course, as you know it and especially in a short-wheelbase car like a miata, when you upshift mid-corner during full accelaration you have some weight transition to the front, couple that with that dip/bump and a shift that is required mid-corner and you'd have some number of folks spinning out at the 2nd corner as well (right after the starting line). The rest of the course is a mixture of increasing/decreasing radii turns (none too technical), but you have a tendency to carry too much momentum towards the last corner (mid corner and braking required) and that caused some hairy oversteer situations for most folks as well...

Do you win something if you lap the quickest time?

You can go as many times as you want but only your first 2 runs count towards the timeboard. You get a prize for beating the target time and prize points for meeting some other goals, I can't remember what. You redeem the points for mazda merchandise at the end of the day.

There are special prizes...for e.g. a Bose audio system if you match exactly (to the millisecond) a pre-set time on a course.

I'll sign up for the same time. Everyone should sign up the same slot, so we can all laugh at eachother.

I can't perform under pressure

Shim, you sure, its mighty early. The only reason I'm doing that time slot is I need to catch a plane later on in the pm.

I'd rather wake up early. I'm hoping there will be less people, which means more runs for me.

That's always the idea...

Looks like no free food, my confirmation email stated they will be selling food onsite At least last year they gave a measly hot dog and soda. Can't beat the catered affairs of the big boys...even Mitsubishi threw a great shin dig last year.

We should sneak a Z4 in and slap a Mazda badge on the Roundels.
