Advice on FMIC for E92 N55
So I'm looking into upgrading the inter-cooler on my N55 and
I was looking for some advice. How much do i have to modify to fit a 5" or 7" FMIC. Also any suggestion on brands and what else i have to buy aside from the FMIC.. Thanks in advance |

5" no trimming, 7" decent amount of trimming. AA, ER and vrsf are the popular brands. Probably should get a metal charge pipe as well, any of the same brands.

I plan on changing CP in a few weeks when I do the intake since I have to remove it to install the CP. I don't think I explained my self correctly, with the upgraded FMIC, do I need to change any of the stock pipes or connections or does everything i need usually come with the FMIC?

Minimal trimming of the plastic shroud behind the bumper is required with any intercooler above 5". If you're planning on maxing out your mods I'd go with a 7" FMIC for the performance benefit. A smaller intercooler is going to heat soak more easily at higher boost levels.

Thanks a lot for your input mrjcover, now one last thing which intake would you pick "Magnum FORCE Pro 5R Stage 2 Air Intake System" or "Injen Cold Air Intake (Polished) SP1126P, 2011-2012 BMW 135i 335i N55"

Go with the least expensive option, both produce the same amount of power
You don't need the c-clip if your chargepipe is in good shape since you can re-use the clip that's on the car. |
