Dark blue Bimmer

What sealant works best on a dark blue BMW? I have been looking into Meguiars M21 2.0 for a replacement for Mothers Reflection synthetic car wax. The Mothers works fine on my silver BMW.

THANKS

I've tried several different brands, and this one has exceeded everything else by a huge margin.

Incredibly easy to apply and wipe off, you use such a tiny bit, that the bottle lasts forever, and the reality (not claimed) longevity is about two months - far better than anything else.

Optimum Opti-Seal

Opti-Seal is great, Hyper Seal from optimum is even better (but more expensive)

Both are infinitely better then anything Megiuars offers

Although Opti-Seal is a great sealant to preserve corrected paint, I find it that it does not bead water that good.

I have a bottle that I bought a while back, and I can say with confidence that it is not a product I would buy twice. I would definitely consider something else.
Problem is that the damn bottle will last for years!

Lol you might be the only person including multiple professional detailers that would say that.

When applied while drying it is the easiest to apply sealant made today.

Jescar PowerLock+ plus a coat of Collinite 845 Insulator Wax......I have been detailing for years and can tell this is a trusted standby proven to be durable. Unless you have a show car this combo is tough to beat. Just remember to go with thin coats.

I was thinking the same thing. Lol.

It's 2018, look into ceramic coating.

Meh, ceramic coating isn't for everyone. I personally would never do it on my car, because I absolutely love cleaning it. It makes me happy and is my zen, even just a quick waterless wash after driving for the day.

For others, who don't really want to do the work associated with keeping a car clean, ceramic coating might be worth it to them.

Each person has a different goal, so it isn't the best option for every car.

Plus, you know, $$$$.

Here is a good video on pros and cons of wax vs coatings.
I have tried coatings on other cars I have detailed but I would not put them on my own car. But for someone else it might be perfect.

I'm currently loving the ease of application and relative durability of CarPro Hydro 2. I don't know of an easier application (you spray it on a wet car when done washing a panel or two at a time and then hit with a high pressure spray, then dry as normal) and I see 2-3 months of good durability on it. The only downside is price.
I too am a past user of ceramic coatings. In my experience (CarPro, Optimum, Durgloss) they just don't last that well on a car that is driven in all sorts of inclement weather and sometimes cannot be washed for multiple weeks or months on end due to sub freezing temps and snow/rain (AKA a true daily driver).

Collinite 845 is awesome

I applied a coat of Collinite 845 Insulator wax on my dark blue X3 bimmer. I applied it over a coat of Mother’s Reflection synthetic wax. The depth of the shine is quite impressive. Very happy with the results.
