Car missing power

Hi guys,

My car is lacking power. It has difficulty to rev on neutral. However if I close the car and start it over the prorblem goes away for rabout the first 5 secondes and then again I can't rev normally.

Anybody experrience this and does anybody know what it could be??

warning light

not untill today, but this morning when I got to work I got the orange overheating symbole....

And when I told my dealer the problem he was very suprised... I am bringing it in tomorrow, will keep you guys posted on what they tell me.

Your ECU appears to be pulling timing and increasing fuel to keep the engine cool. It might be a bad water pump or thermostat. Also, check your coolant level when it's cold. If the car overheats, it might boil some coolant off.

I would highly reccomend against driving your car. You can destroy your engine. You can get it towed if you still have your roadside assistance.

E90pilot, your right. The dealer found the problem, they say it's the fan that is not working, therefore the ECU puts the car in safe mode so that the engine doesn't overheat.

Fan has to come from germany and will only arrive in 10-14 days... Meanwhile I have a x3 3.0 as a loaner, pretty nice!
