e90 320D oil service due (near Reading)
All,
My e90 320D is due for an oil service. I live near Reading. On the BMW site below I get a total quote for £179. Is this a good option to go? or any cheaper places? please suggest thanks. https://www.bmw-service.co.uk/##your-vehicle |

For an oil service I'd do it myself, or get an indy to do it. £179 is daylight robbery imo

Find a decent local garage and use them. I'd expect to pay about £50 for an oil change, less if you supply the oil. Its about 10 minutes work for a garage with ramps.

normal oil change is £54, but for synthetic oil I had to pay £22 extra, total £84...sounds fine.... Only thing i hope is they did put the right oil |

I go to Grosvenor in Reading, Richfield Avenue, think an oil change was 150 all in but would recommend them. I think if you get more done it works out better value as they don't charge much more labour. Would recommend the garage though

I can vouch for TGM Sport in Fleet.
I have used them for an interim oil change (I supplied by own oil and BMW filters), diff oil, tyre fitting and change of front discs and pads (i supplied genuine BMW items) Tom is absolutely first rate - he runs his own race team and carries our work for a number of other race teams. |

I use Shell Helix Professional AM-L. Only because on the Shell website it told me that's the oil for my car. I figure listen to what they say and you can't go wrong.
