Which shocks?

I was seriously considering selling my E92 and getting something newer and more comfy but I think I’ve decided to stick with the old girl a while longer.
At the moment it’s on eibach pro springs and bilstein b6 dampers which when the roads are race track smooth is a great setup but the roads round my way are far from that!
I like the way the car sits so don’t want to go with se suspension. I feel the car is over damped so the springs aren’t really the ‘problem’. I’m looking at Sachs shocks on AUTODOC which list for “standard suspension” and other for “sports”.
Has anybody used the for standard suspension with lower springs like my eibachs? I wonder if the dimensions are the same, just a little less damped for a comfier ride than the sports versions? Any other suggestions for a more compliant ride are welcome without blowing my modest budget. Thanks.

go for B4 shocks. very complient and they come in a lowered version too, suitable for your eibach pro springs.

the B6 you currently have is actually a wrong shock for the eibach kit, shock is too long, so that also might be the reason for the harsh ride.

part #s:
front left: 22-135032
front right: 22-135049
rear 2x: 19-135052

don’t forget to order the correct bump stops too:
front bump stop: 31336767333
rear bump stop: 33536767335

note that all the above is for Sport suspension (aka lowered vehicles)

Been looking at this as well.

My car has sports suspension as an option - is that the same as the msport or not?

I thought it was standard > sports > m sport but when searching and using real oem it only showed 2 options. Standard and m sport.

Desperate to order some replacements. Do B4 standard length go nicely with the OE springs?

As far as i know there is only 2, OE suspension types. Standard which comes on SE and m-sport, on the m-sport specced cars. For Sachs struts, Autodoc refers to them as standard and m-technology. But eurocarparts uses the terms standard and sports.

To me, if Sachs only offer these 2 options then surely that's the only options available for OE? I'm not going to get into the aftermarket options.

I think this is where the confusion comes from. Additionally, the F generation of BMWs started to have more trims levels. SE, sport, and m-sport (not sure if each had different shock absorber type). Again, this may cause come confusion.

as far as i know, at least on our side of the world, there's 2 options: standard height or lowered height.

B4 standard goes nice with the standard height springs.
B4 "sport" goes nice with the OEM sport springs (-15mm) & with eibach (or any other brand) lowering spring which goes +/- 30mm lower then stock.

so be carefull, the B4 come in 2 versions, but they share the same name (but different partnumbers for stock height vs lowered)

I really liked my Koni oranges. They're super cheap, never gave me an issue and rode fantastic with my Tein S tech springs. Id definitely recommend them.

I have the pro springs and B4’s and wish I’d gone Sachs, I find them harsh on the bumpy U.K. roads handles well on fast smooth roads, but rattles the poo out the car over small bumps ect

I have standard msport springs and B4's in the msport fitment and the car handles nice and rides lovely. Its so good over bumps compared to any modern cars which are always very harsh.
