shitty exhaust shop

so, around a year ago i had a exhaust shop install a new flange for my headers since i had to cut the old one out due to the bolts being stripped and rusted, instead of replacing the flange they welded my exhaust mid pipes directly to my headers flange, im going on deployment to a va so ill probably have to get smog tested, would the easiest option be to count my losses and cut the weld so i can put a manifold in and have another shop weld a flange or is there a easier alternative im looking over

Show Kentucky your orders, and ask for an extension until you get back from deployment. My state, Maryland, gives a three-month extension, just for the asking.

I just bought a cheap stock manifold on ebay, i think im going to put them in and drive to another exhaust manifold with an open manifold and have them install a new flange, is that something most shops will do? after i get tested im definitely getting cattless headers since my headers with high flows started throwing p0420,430 codes after owning them for a year, also i misspoke, im not going on a deployment to va thats just where my orders are

Two things. If you are going to Virginia, are you keeping your home plates? Where in Virginia? Not every county in Virginia requires emissions testing. Virginia does have an annual safety inspection. If your car is not registered in Virginia, then it will not fall under safety nor emissions inspections.

If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."
