I am attempting to swap seats from a PreLCI into my LCI E91. I am aware of the active headrest issue I will face. When I removed the passenger seat this morning to being the swap (yes I did disconnect the battery) and looked at the electrical connector I see that the plastic connector and the pins within it #17 from the diagram 2 posts above is missing on the seat that I plan to swap IN. This seat did not come with the seatbelt holder/clip. If I remove the seat belt holder/clip from the existing seat will that connector come with it?

Sorry for the dumb question.

I have a problem with my installation and I hope someone can help me here!

First of all I have a E88 135i N54 with heated manual sport seats. Turns out that they put the whole wiring loom in the car even though I only had heated seats so that's great .

I did lots of research and I installed the M3 seats today smoothly and I thought it was a breeze just using the two diagrams (attached). I printed them off and checked off Car side and Seat side wires. Pulled KCAN from iDrive controller and swapped PIN 4 into PIN 9 for lumbar and side bolsters as per this thread. So far so good. Put my battery terminal back on and seats work without a problem for more than 5 mins. The problem is I put the ignition in and I get airbag light and "Restraint System Faulty" error. I do not understand why?
I re-inspected the wiring diagrams and discovered this:
on my Car side - Driver -
PIN 18 Yellow +
PIN 19 Brown -
do not match the M3 seats wiring which is:
PIN 18 Brown
PIN 19 Yellow
for some reason!

on Passenger side it's reversed too:
Car side - Passenger -
PIN 18 Blue +
PIN 19 Brown -
M3 seat plug:
PIN 18 Brown
PIN 19 Blue

So 4 things I'd like to know.
1. I'm surprised my airbags haven't popped if the polarity is reversed? Why have they not?
2. If I reverse the wires to match the colors, but possibly the polarity is correct right now, will I pop my airbags or is this safe to try?
3. Where are the airbag/SRS codes stored as they don't seem to be in the DME? Can iCarly reset the airbag codes? (I haven't bought one yet). I have INPA but never used it so I'd appreciate it if someone can guide me on how to clear this code in INPA. I have MHD Tune N54 but that can only clear DME codes.
4. If 1&2 are not the cause, how can I test the Seat Occupancy Sensor as that's the only other likely cause of this I think?

Please help!
Anyone have a clue ?

Was wondering if anybody knew the part number for the seat belt buckle wire harness for the tensioner pyrotechnic? Would be a big help to me in my project

Hi guys i brought some red leather saloon m3 seats, i currently have m sport seats which are heated and electric bolsters. Am i right in thinking i need 4 connected to 9 (both +) and 8 you connect with 13 (both -)? Will this allow me to move the seat back and forth ect? Also the seats i brought were already retrofitted into a prelci, they have 3 black wires not connected to the module or air bag wiring just hanging.

Forgot to come back with a resolution. It was the seat occupancy sensor that needed a bypass. £30 or so off ebay and I was good to go. I still do not know what is up with the 2 wire colors not matching but I haven't reversed them. I used iCarly to clear the Airbag codes after the bypass was installed and no problems since.

Awesome thread guys! I was hopping someone could help me out though. I just swapped out my basic seats ( no heat or power) for a pair of m-sport heated (bolsters but no power movement) I ran power for the bolsters and heat, both lines to the junction box (pins 34 and 38) as well as grounds and switched on pin 5. All connections are run to the original positions in the proper plugs. Bolsters work but I get no lights on the het switches and no heat. Anyone have an idea? I did not run an additional k can for either seat and if I read correctly I only need the drivers side anyways.
Coding was done with my icom with Ista p and was successful.

hello
you'll need to run separate heating pwm wire from JBE to both seats

Aren’t those the connections at pins 34 and 38?

oops, yes, they are
when i added seat heating to my car it started to work even without heating
so may be if you have lci car your JBE do not have these circuits soldered or you put 34 and 38 to another jbe plug

so you need to test all connections with multimeter, voltage on always-on and switched positive, and try to activate heating using inpa or rheingold

Power is at the 30a lines but no power at the 10a line.

After reading, there is no Can lines to mine. Everything is wired correctly though. Tomorrow I will receive another switch assembly to try. I hope that is it.

did you checked 10a line when key inserted and ignition enabled ?
do this car have efficient dynamics ? do your battery charged ?
you'll need CAN only if you have big(20x15cm) seat module under seat

Looks like in the TIS my divers seat needs to be powered by the x11008 instead of the x11006 as it is wired.
https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...s-side/urjLrph

Passenger needs to go to the x11001 as it looks

https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...s-side/uzRp4LF
The retrofit pdf has them both going to the x11006..

Or am I reading this wrong?

I have pin removal tools on the way and when they arrive I will swap the connection to the x11008 as the new switch I received had the same problem.

The pdf is also dated 2008 that I was using and my car is an 2009 build.

So swapped the power to the power indicated in the tis, still nothing, I tried to activate the seats via inpa but no communication with either module. I can only assume now I have the wrong connection at the nfrm. Tomorrow I will retrace everything.. (again)
