A few of my friends have cars that need M O T's (is that the right term) how embarrassing is that I didnt know that modern cars were fitted with dipsticks (apart from Carlos' 335d that is!) |

how can you not check your oil on a performance car, or any car for that matter? run it dry even once and the bearings take a hammering... its too late once the pressure light is on nowt wrong with an older car id love an f40 which would have had 14 MOT to date Carl

Ahh, but with the fuel savings we're making we could afford to tip that £80 bottle of wine down the sink, bit like the fuel economy that you petrol boys observe I'll be off to the Indian tonight for a good takeaway and copious amounts of Cobra or a cheeky Chateauneuf du Pape

Anyway, just checked it - I hate dipsticks, never seem to be 100% clear to me. It was near the minimum... so what Oil do I need to put in it? Don't want to buy BMW stuff if I don't have to.
