Hallo Menno

225/45/17 in front and 255/45/17 at back. Front continental sport contact run flat and back Potenza. The car bounce around on a stright road making it difficalt to keep in your lane. I had hard suspension cars before with run flat tyres and had no problem. The BMW is accident free. Is this a Problem on the sports pack or can this be solved.

Hi Dreyer

The only other thing I could think of is to get the shocks tested. I have the sport pack and the Michelin Pilot Sports (front and rear) and although it is a pretty hard ride over bumps, it's not unbearable and certainly not uncontrollable - I have no problems staying in a lane on a straight road even if it is bumpy.

I definitely think that something is up if it is as bad as you say it is...

No harm in getting it looked at.

Cheers,
Andrew

Ons is hier... But yeah - not too much goes on in the Africa forums. It's a bit sad really.

But as you say - at least we're driving a good set of wheels

Quick Question, any one done the golf tee mod?

Not really a mod but it does give the car a louder sound on start and its a bit louder below 3k rpm

I've done the equivalent of disconnecting the solenoid that actuates the valve which the golf-T mod essentially hard-wires open.

It definitely gives a little bit of extra sound through the exhausts. I reconnected it after a while though because to my tastes it got a bit drony... But I reckon that's a personal thing - I'd suggest trying it - and then leave it if you like it.

Was checking out your garage - do you have any photos of the CSL style spoiler? I've been debating over which spoiler to get for a while. Don't have the cash now though but it would be good to see it anyway...

Will try it out. There is droning especially after the chip.

I just pulled the cable out. If i reconnect it will it still work?

Did it on my old 125 and no droning at all. Just gave it a deeper sound at lower rpm

Yeah - just plug the cable in and it works again no problem.

nice guys... how much does a 2011 335i xdrive msport go for around your parts? Just wondering if there's much of a difference from the US market. Mine pretty much fully loaded with the msport package, cold weather package, premium pacakge, HK sound system, Navigation, steptronic, moonroof, xenon lights, smartphone integration ipod integ. and sat. radio was around $57k USD.

Wow, that is kinda crazy price. I guess there is no need for the xdrive version there, but its very helpful in the snow over here

Yeah, the motor industry really knows how to squeeze money out of us South African's. I paid around $74k for my e90 335i M-Sport Steptronic with PDC & Bluetooth as the only options...

Thats insane, for that money you can pick up a Nissan GTR over here or a hooked up M3. I dont know how they can ask that much for them in South africa. You guys must have some serious financing options available to afford them
