Could anybody help me fix my aux?

Hi, New member here, Can't believe i've only just found this forum! it's a wealth of information. I've searched through but still stumped.

I have not long bought an e91 330d on an 08 plate. have searched the forum & managed to work out that I have the Professional unit. with a 'Mulf2 hi' & usb/aux option in armrest. also worth mentioning I have the phone dock in there aswell. I have checked the fuse & it seems ok But still Aux/usb & bluetooth still not functional. I can select the options on the headunit but nothing happens when i plug in a cable or usb drive.
I've looked online with my vin & I am supposed to have aux and usb from factory.
Further digging tonight I have discovered my headunit is from another car (e92) but it's the unit i should have. also the harness has been bodged by the looks of things.
Looking at the stereo connector and harness could anyone tell if there is the right pins etc for aux and or usb? If not can I hack the phone dock or something? haha.
Really appreciate any advice.

Thanks.

If you have usb the aux and usb to the center console in almost
all cases comes for the Mulf 2 Hi in the trunk . These signals
them leave the mulf 2 hi on the most bus to be interpreted at the
radio . Radio's must be programmed to recognize the Mulf 2 hi
as part of the system.
1) Mulf is Bad.
2) Radio was never programmed if changed.
3)Other problems on the Most Bus preventing the communication.
4)You won't see pins on the back of the Head Unit connector for USB
because there aren't any there.

That blue tape says somebody has been messing with things on the harness.
Why is there only one fiberoptic on that connector there always has to be
two for each module one right next to each other (and in and a out)
The putyied in Most Connection is the first thing I would fix.

Thank you for the reply. It's a bit of a mess! Would probably be easier for me to fit an aftermarket unit. Do you think my parking sensors and steering controls would work with the right lead? based on the wiring I have in the car pictured.

thanks again

These cars are not easily modifiable .
There are harnesses that support some of the stuff
you are talking about search for some of the aftermarket installs
here.
You really should learn something about programming and diagnostics
before attempting this.

That picture says some one messed the base harness up there may even
be putty over the ends of the Most Bus Connector.

Thanks again I appreciate your help.

Yes I think you're right in regards to the wiring being messed up. on one of the optical wires there is a red light which occasionally blinks. I'm just going to get one of them Bluetooth FM transmitters and be done with it.
