Rbturbo or Vargas

Hello everyone my stock turbos has a blown seals. I'm looking into a upgrade but trying to save my budget because I would still like to go single kit in the future.

I am looking at between Vargas and Rbturbo. I know vargas has some mix reviews some saying they're good some are saying it bad.

My goal is try to push the car maybe at least close to 600whp I'll still be happy with mid's 500. I know in fact that VTT stage 2, and Rb Two's Plus are capable to push the car 600+ whp. It is little bit out of my budget range because I need to also upgrade inlet and outlet as well + install kit gaskets.

I was wondering if Rbturbo Two's can still push the car above 500whp it the same price as for VTT Stage 2 but vargas can push 650+ whp for little bit cheaper compare to Rb turbo Two's plus.

RB 2’s should be able to hit 500whp

I just got a set, haven’t pushed them yet. But they clearly higher quality than any others. I would highly recommend them over VTT

Be aware, he does have a couple weeks lead time.

If you're on a budget saving for a single put in a used OEM pair. Resale value on hybrid twins is crap. Then you need to sell all the aftermarket parts for twins? Doesn't make sense to put in hybrids if your end goal is single. Being patient is easier said than done though.

RB's quality is in a league by itself IMO.

No brainer to go with RB turbo's, Vargas isn't in the same league.

Only other one I'd consider is Pure.

RB

Pure makes good ones too, but they are really proud of their turbos (price is $$$ vs equal to or better turbos)

I’ve had the RB Two Plus’s for over a year. No issues. Over 500whp on 93. Almost too much for the street. Stock like spool and pull until red line. No regrets.

How much boost on 93? Been considering these turbos, but I'll be tuned on E50-E60 hoping they can make at least 575-600whp without pushing them so hard.

Our most popular kit is Pure Turbo, Vargas is a close second.

Vargas gets a lot of bad rep on the forums, my personal experience with them has been nothing short of excellent and we sold have hundreds of Vargas kits

RB and VTT are both ran by misleading and lying a-holes who had plagued this platform for over a decade. I would rather give money to Pure.

21-22.

Nothing but good things to say about RB and Rob. Was a pleasure to work with and the support was fantastic.

Same opinion of Ken at Wedge tuning. Absolutely a great guy to work with and the car runs great.

I rebuilt my OE stockers with VTT cartridges. They were burning a quart of oil every 500 miles after about....500 miles of use. They were blowing lots of smoke and dentist drilling. Pulled them out when i threw a single on and the wheels were in perfect shape. They use shit parts, or have shit quality control. No foreign object damage at all.

To make things better, there's about a 0% chance of any warranty being honored though VTT if you do any work yourself.

VTT is garbage. Better of burning your money. There is a reason they have such a horrible reputation. Also the owner has a rap sheet for beating the piss out of his ex girlfriend.

RB or pure would get my money. The new RB GFs look killer. As much as I love my single turbo the RB GFs are the only twins I would consider now.

Crap twins are VTT, MMP, China Cast, Frankenturbo, etc.

Once you add the cost of downpipes, inlets, outlets, etc. + quality twins you are at the entry price for a single turbo which is inherently 2x as reliable and will make more power on pump gas than twins ever can assuming you size your turbo correctly.

Twins make a great choice for a daily though. 500whp+ on pump gas with full boost at 2800rpms is far from slow and almost too much for the street. Sure a single will make more power and will win on a highway pull, but spool much later. Downshifting is great in theory, much less fun in practice. I’m a fan of building a car for the environment.

I’m not trying to argue twins vs single though. Singles are great. I’ve had both. I much prefer the twins for daily driving around town though. I think the Gen 2 5862 is a great compromise for a single that’s a more friendly daily. People saying their 6262’s are just as fun for daily are lying to themselves.

I just ordered some RB Twos Plus, my goal is for 500whp on 93 with some head room to turn it up with an ethanol blend.
