Serpentine belt replacement for M57N2..is it the same as an M57T2

Hi,

At 220k and hearing a slight chirp at low revs, I've decided to replace the serpentine belt/tensioners on my 2005 E90 330D with M57N2 engine, just to rule it out!

There's a few belt replacement guides on this forum but not particularly for the M57N2 but I do have the Haynes manual for my BMW. However, it only mentions M47T2/N47/M57T2 and N57. I'm assuming the M57T2 is a version of what I have? I'm guessing the instructions are similar however, in the M57T2 section, it starts with removal of the undershield/splash shield under the radiator followed by removal of the cooling fan and shroud. The rest of the process is similar to the rest of the guides I've seen.

Thanks

Dan

Also, whilst I can get to this page on realoem if I put my VIN in:

https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=11_3662

although I can search for and find the individual parts, how do I know which kit or set I need. I'm not sure how much to trust these registration/part checkers...for instance, this one's only £66:

https://www.autodoc.co.uk/gates/11534403

however, I see also see them more towards the £100 mark.

M57TU2=M57N2=M57T2. As far as I know.

You probably mainly need a new alternator pulley and belt to go with. But tensioner is a fair shout while you're at it.

Don't see why you'd need to remove the undertray, but the fan shroud is a must.

Autodoc kit looks like the right kit, if you want a kit. Or you could order individual parts using the numbers in realoem.

If you order from autodoc (or any of its subsidiaries), place the order on a Monday and use the app for best pricing (generally). And uncheck 'safe order' at checkout - as far as I know it's £4 for zero gain. Expect delivery to take 10 days or so, and pretty pathetic support if anything goes wrong. They're generally the cheapest, even with £10 shipping.

Thanks for this, I've yet to order but will do in the coming weeks, and probably from Autodoc taking your advice into account!
