quick tire insurance question

Hey,

I was just wondering if the tire insurance would cover the tires lifetime, like if the tire is just used before 5 years, would it cover a replacement tire, or would it be better to just puncture it yourself and get a replacement? lol

it's prorated. One you use something along the lines of 2/32" tread, they give you the % of the remaining tread toward the new tire.

So, if a tire has 10/32 of tread, and you bring it in with 5/32 remaining, they give you 50% off the cost of a new tire.

Remeber, the last 2/32 of an inch of tread are not considered useable, and don't coun't in the calculation. In the above example, there would be 12/32 when new, 7/32 when damaged. The shop will always subtract 2/32 from each measurement becuase it's not useable tread.

haha if you have to pay for new tires you might as well pop them right infront of a wheelworks or something--assuming you have to pay as the guy above wrote.

i think its 50k/4years/4k in claims. and its usually about 1k a set of tires and alignment is on you, so about 100 bucks.
