flex fuel wire question

Ok, so im in the middle of installing the flex fuel wires and Im at the part where you're supposed to put the flex fuel wire into the AMP connector. I found two discrepancies with the instructions.

1) It states that of the two wires, one is exposed due to the insulator being cut away. When i received my flex fuel wires, i found that both had their insulators cut away. I figured out that the longer of the two wires is the one that goes into the AMP.

2) It states that there is a wire with a gold pin....neither have a gold pin... this is the part i am stuck at.

How am i supposed to put the flex fuel wire into the AMP connector without a gold pin? is it safe by just twisting the wire and jamming the wire into the connector? im assuming not...
