Injector DIY

When Installing new Injectors. will I need to buy a tool to compress the seals before install? Some injectors I found come with seals already on, others without

Just wondering if a seal compression tool is needed

New injectors come with teflon seals installed. You need to install the decoupling element on the new injector and that does not require any tools

dont confuse teflon seals with decoupling element which is like a washer not sure which one ECS tries to sell because i never bought there but just make sure its not the element which you need. The teflon seal is small at the tip of the injector that comes installed from factory. That seal is replaced if you are reusing the injectors. Same with the element.

I know with n54 injectors the seal must be compressed (if reusing injectors) I am buying brand new and dont know if the seal will be already compressed or if it will need to be compressed at all

No special tools are need to replace an injector. I've done it several times with no issues. Removing the old one can be the hardest part. If it is stuck, get an open ended wrench and rotate the injector while pulling up to wiggle it loose.
