Just was wondering if it could be an interface issue. I've been having some issues with my DCAN interface as well, trying to trace down why I can't talk to some newer modules....

The only difference to the cable shown above is that both plugs at the ends of that cable are angeled (90 deg.): @Booster4075: Thank you for the part number! |

I can't remember if the actual cable for the E70 has both ends with right angles--I think one end does for sure. Nevertheless, it works, is long enough, and has been installed for a few months in my car. (I got the p/n from a sharp E60 guy)

HI Technic,
Thats the parts number that i gave to my dealer earlier today and they said they were specific Europe only part number that they were not able to order. I did find #23 on reaoloem for an US e92 p/n 51169170917 that i can order but can't find #24. I thought that the idrive black trim came with center trim but i guess it only comes in e92. |

In post http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=729 You made reference to the FSC codes being loaded remotely over the Internet. Are you able to elaborate on what tools/cable were used or is this still shrouded in mystery. Even though you have mentioned various tools you have used/tried for coding the CIC I still see no mention of what was used to actually enable the CIC.

If it was a secret I should not have a working swap, isn't it?
Spoon feeding is not my thing, dude. I post what I know as a guide to those interested to do similar retrofits/mods, and plenty of members -not only me- have posted more than enough of information and findings to accomplish this when 6 months ago there were no information or findings at all. And anybody that has done retrofits, any retrofits, know that it takes a lot of research and walking the talk, and that cost time and money; free never is. Links and photos go only so far. It seems to me that you do not want to do any research or reading at all, just point and click... |
