Do You Enjoy Working?

Been working as Graduate QS for over a year now and recently job role role changed and doing more cost management at the moment. Month End is really stressfull and people I work with aren't that great either....

How are you guys getting on with your current roles? I take it most of you must have done well, since your driving e90s.....

No, would rather be doing something I want to do but that will not pay enough to maintain current lifestyle (E9x or not ).

Would prefer a job where I meet more people tbh and feel I'm doing something worthwhile rather than feeling stiffled in many ways as I do now.

Only I can change it though.

And yes, even the Civil Service can be stressful believe it or not.

I love uni. But also want a decent job/career to buy the things I've always wanted. Life is sweet but harsh at the same time.

Yes and no, I do like some aspects of my job, got my own sites I look after and get some satisfaction out of looking after the complex systems etc. I also enjoy the application side of things, writing software and setting up the energy monitoring etc. But I hate some jobs where you get to deal with right knobs, boring wee jobs that you can do nothing on. Plus I dont feel that I am going anywhere in the company after being there for 11 years, I'm now 30 and I do have lots of experience but just feel as if that because Iknow my job well, they are a bit apprehensive about taking me off the field and into the office.

I can't imagine working in a faster moving or more competitive industry (although I'm sure there are plenty) and being ultimately responsible for the sales operation and customer experience I have one word for it....PRESSURE!

I'm very fortunate to have an experienced and dedicated team and an MD who is probably the best boss you could imagine!

For the time being....I love it!

Love teaching, hate the external pressures, ignorant assumptions, rude and abusive parents and emphasis on statistical paperwork that I have to produce that takes me away from what the job should be about...giving kids opportunities to experience something new and something to value in life apart form their mobile phones and PS3s.

We serve a very deprived area with some serious issues! Parents a largely great and kids are fantastic...but there are those who like to tell you in no uncertain terms that you are a $$$****$$$$ etc. Gets tedious. Also been threatened physically on numerous occasions...assaulted once in 15 years. Shit happens.
