endless saga 335 engine gone crazy...
Hi guys
Listen to this, I have a 335i 2009 ( x drive) 11000 miles ALWAYS driven gently and with respect, hand washed, 93 octane gas, oil change every 6 mo and what not.. 2 weeks ago, got the "service engine soon" light on. contacted dealer right away " dont worry about it, probably some minor issue", checked computer status : all OK. few miles later, car starts to stutter, drove to the dealer, got the car in for a check out. THIS WAS TWO WEEKS AGO, CAR IS STILL NO GOOD ! so, first, they read that the injectors on cylinders 1,2,3, are bad, replaced, test driven - bad again, replaced spark plugs. checked with BMW hotline - test driven, bad again, ran more tests and diagnostics, check again, aha! change HPFP , ok that was replaced, now what ? waited again, test driven ( all test drives by a technician, who knows how the treated my car, probably kicked the cr*** out of it...). so 10 days have elapsed, got a call back - now th oxygen sensors are not right, which ones they do not know, they need to check and send computer reading to hot line.. they got it now pinned down and change approval finally is here, and change is due tomorrow ( 14 days in). waiting for the final test drive, what else can go wrong ? at least they gave me a loaner 3(28xi), for the entire two weeks, and extended the HPFP warrenty to 10 years. I hope they did not damage the car with all these test drives and fiddling with the engine... Any of you guys has similar experience ? Thanks BP |

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Worst case they can't fix it and you can have BMW buy it back. The 335i is a fairly common car, so most of the techs are probably pretty bored with driving them crazy hard.. and even if they did drive it hard, the car is designed to take it, WOT isn't really bad for it.
Hopefully they get it resolved soon for you. |

My car is having similar problem and have been in and out the dealership almost every week. The worst thing is no lemon law in Canada so having manufacture buying back the car is impossible.
